The Amazing Floating Egg

Ingredients
Observation of egg in water before adding ingredients
# of teaspoons added
Observations when ingredient added
Observation when water carefully added
Salt








It sinks to the bottom.

It is floating on the top of the glass cup.

It is floating in the middle of the glass cup.
Epsom Salt

It sinks to the bottom of the glass cup

It is floating on the top of the glass cup.

it is not floating, It sank to the bottom.
Sugar

It sank to the bottom of the glass cup.

It is floating on the top of the glass cup.

it is floating half way in the glass cup.
Baking Soda
It sank to the bottom of the glass cup.

It is floating at the top of the glass cup.

It is not floating it is at the bottom of the glass cup.


Conclusion
·         What did you notice while using each ingredient?  I noticed that the salt is the strongest and that sugar is the weakest. This can be wrong because in science you must repeat the lab over and over again. I made a mistake on the salt i forgot to stir so I added to much.

·         Why do you think this occurred (use scientific language)?  I think this occurred because the water became more denser then the egg, ex: the dead sea.  So because of the ingredients the water became more denser then the egg.

·         Did everything go well during the lab? If no, what would you change next time?
